Rubber tie to hold my brake

I was riding my fixie 20miles from home when the brake stayed in my hand while pulling it to stop at an intersection. I quickly realized that the screw holding it was gone. Temporarily fixed it to the handlebar with rubber twist ties that I had by chance taken with me in my backpack. It held for the rest of the ride and I got home safely!
