Epic Fail turned into Epic Ride

Drove to the coast for a New Year’s family ride with our dog Laila. Forgot to bring the adapter to hitch our dog trailer to the tandem 🤦‍♂️. Too far to go back and too cold to leave her in the car, so found a large shopping bag, put some cardboard in the bottom for a secure base, and a thin cushion for a make-shift “doggie backpack”. She loved it - Laila spent most of the ride checking out the ocean, cars, and farm animals and even fell asleep on my back at the end of the 2-hour ride.
