Derailleur protector

I was sick of scuffing my derailleur on my titanium gravel bike while on the trails. And so I came up with this idea: I purchased a 12mm rear axil with an extra 5mm of thread so that it protrudes past the hanger, I searched eBay and purchased a 50mm steel tube with an internal 12mm thread and a nylon screw with a 12mm thread screwed them all together and creating a neat solution to protect my rear derailleur.
